Do laundry sheets work as well as laundry gel?

Laundry sheets look like thin pieces of paper, so it's natural to ask: do they really wash as clean as ordinary laundry gel? The short answer is yes. Let's look at how and why.
How do laundry sheets actually work?
A laundry sheet is a concentrated detergent that has been dried into a thin sheet. While more than half of liquid laundry gel is water, a laundry sheet contains only what actually does the washing – active ingredients, enzymes and fragrance.
The sheet goes straight into the washing machine drum or the detergent drawer. It dissolves completely in the wash water – even at low temperatures such as 20–30 °C. Because exactly the right amount of detergent reaches the machine, there is no risk of over- or under-dosing.
The washing result compared with laundry gel
For everyday laundry – T-shirts, bed linen, sportswear – there is no difference in the result: the same active ingredients found in laundry gel are also in the sheet. Soiled collars and cuffs are worth pre-treating with a stain remover either way.
Where laundry sheets pull ahead of gel is dosing. Gel is poured by eye, and too much detergent leaves residue in clothes that can irritate the skin. With a sheet, the portion is always exact.

Price and the environment
